Lesson Learned is a company that was created as a one-shot comic (one-chapter stories) application that allows artists to release comics/illustrative stories in a collective space that brings awareness to a social issue. Stories that have a (moral) lesson. People are able to create a comic that could live on the app while relaying a story that speaks about how hate speech/negative interactions are horribly impactful to people.

How might design be used to educate young individuals (18-24) in order to actively dismantle racism and sexism with social media outlets and marginalized groups?
Process:
Process:
Research: Recognizing systemic discrimination via Racism Untaught curriculum. Research paper about discrimination online and in society.
Interviews: Interviewed people from different backgrounds (ages 18-24). They experienced 3 different race-based videos found on TikTok. Negative, neutral, and positive. This is called an Experience Simulation: Engaging people in simulated experiences to understand what matters to them.
Heuristic Analysis: With the use of the information gained from the interviews. It's a good method for finding both major and minor problems in a user experience by mapping the end users' feelings during points in the guided activity.
App and Website: With all of the information gathered, I created Lesson Learned where people can learn to be less negative and discriminatory in engaging ways.

Some challenges were along the lines of making my app unique and different from other popular webcomic apps such as Webtoon. A solution that helped with this was making sure the content went through a reviewing process before being published. Also, making sure that reporting any offensive content is addressed in the reporting process. Another would be being inclusive in the genre section so no one is left out. Lastly, on the creator's profile, they have LinkTree with links to credible articles about any topics that their comic might address.
